This project has been designed to introduce the important concept of timing circuits to students using the 555 monostable circuit. The circuit is very important as it features heavily in the KS4 curriculum. It has been designed to have more than one possible outcome and therefore more than one application. It allows for good differentiation and includes a transistor drive circuit. A training system is also available for use alongside this project to assist students with making important design decisions.
The time can be varied with the variable resistor
Can be used with various trigger inputs
Battery powered
PCB has space for a transistor drive circuit to allow higher powered outputs to be added
Clear silkscreen text has been used to make construction simpler
Professional double-sided PCB pre-drilled with silkscreen and solder-resist
Multiple kit versions available for maximum flexibility
Custom kits are available
Blank PCBs are available
PCBs and special kits are available from our online store
As option 1 but with transducer drive circuit, terminal blocks and a rounder rocker switch
Why not add a panel mounted variable resistor as in the pictures above.
A comprehensive kit is available from ouronline store. It is possible to change kit contents for example LED sizes and colours and components can be upgraded, for example changing the DPDT slide switch for a round rocker switch. If you have particular requirements please contact us
